This will be a showcase of our members' talents in various Open Source programs. We firmly believe that you do not necessarily have to pay exorbitant amounts of money to create works of art, and through this gallery, we hope to prove this to others.

As I'm sure you're aware, the deviantART side of GimpDome has been very inactive. We do apologize for that and hope to remedy the situation very shortly. There are a lot of changes for GimpDome in the works and those changes are not only for our wonderful forums, but for our deviantART group as well.
Features and interviews on our deviantART page (interviews will also be featured on our forums). Which brings us to:
Getting a subscription for our deviantART group so we can do those features
New look and feel to our forums (sleeker and easier to navigate)
New competitions on our forums

There's more, but I don't want to give everything away, so you'll just have to keep your eye on us and see what we have in the works.

--oØo--Submission Process--oØo--
GimpDome on deviantART is going to be handling member submissions a little differently from now on. We will be handling all member submissions through fav's. What does this mean for you, the member? Don't worry it will only be a few small changes.
You can note us with a thumb code or link to your deviation you would like to share.
We will then head over to that deviation and add it to our collection of favorites. There will be a special folder just for Member Submitted Works.
A weekly journal will be posted showcasing all new submissions/fav's.
Now there will be no mistakes when fav'ing. All credit will go where it belongs, to you!
If you do not have a deviantART account, submissions will be handled in the "old way," and will be shown in our gallery.

The mission of GimpDome Online Communities is to provide all digital designers with a friendly, active community dedicated to the use of Open Source and free software. We empower these designers to utilize their skills for professional or personal ventures, as we strive to provide the best assistance and encouragement possible.

Through an active forum and IRC channel, GimpDome's goal is to always offer help and assistance to those who ask for it. A variety of site-sponsored weekly challenges through a wide range of Open Source programs provide our members the opportunity to sharpen their skills further. Our desire is that people, the world over, will discover that there is no need to buy expensive programs to create works of art.

The tutorial and resource sections of GimpDome are extensive. Covering several major programs as well as few that are lesser-known, we offer step-by-step detailed processes to aid in the us of these programs. This will increase the knowledge base and sharpen the tools of our member's skills while they share in their growth. Often files are shared so others can see layer by layer how the work was created. With encouragement through contests, tuts, helpful staff and members, we will continue to help others grow in their talents while having fun.
